FunkyCozy @ ANU :: Saturday, May 28th from 9 PM - 2 AM. Free Champagne, 9 PM-10 PM!

On Saturday, May 28th from 9 PM - 2 AM, Opel resident Hoj will join residents Jonathan Beech, Sinukus and Tim McCormack to lay down some progressive/tribal beats for your dancing pleasure.

Those of you who made it out for Hac Le in April know we had a GREAT TIME! Well, how do we top it, you ask? We bring in Hoj! We've had Hoj on our short list for about a year now, and we're finally able to make it happen. Hoj has had a very busy year, touring in Brazil and playing parties all over San Francisco like Qool and Opel. After spending the spring refining his sound, he's ready to blow you away this Saturday! So join us at Anu on 6th and mission on Saturday, May 28th, from 9 PM - 2 AM. Free champagne from 9 PM to 10 PM, so get there early. We'll warm you up with bubbly and some nice downtempo, then build on up to an eclectic combo of house, tech house, breakbeats, progressive, and anything else you can think of, as long as it makes you move. Hoj, Jonathan Beech, Sinukus, and Tim McCormack. Need we say more? Be there, peeps.
Did anyone go to the Love Parade San Francisco this past weekend? I went there and caught the very end of Hybrid's set, and managed to talk to Mike Truman a bit about spinning in Tokyo and their second "Remix and Additional Production By..." album. He told me that they're aiming for January or February of 2005, as they're trying to see that everything in the album will be original work (I guess somewhat like Sasha's Involver album).

"symphony" (the original) will always be in the top 5-thats the song that turnd me onto Hybrid many years ago. "True to Form" is also an epic keeper. I like the mash up they do of "Kill City" and Crystal Method's "name of the Game" (hybrid remix). Oh and lately I've been jamming their remix of MOBY-"southside"-when Gwen sings over those strings...just amazing.

I wonder if I should wear a shirt that says "DISHING PUMP" when I go to see them...

In discogs.com (http://www.discogs.com/release/193692) someone claimed that there is a hidden track in the Morning Sci-Fi album... Here's what the guy says:

"...for those who already have it, their is a hidden bonus track on the cd. Just goto the first track and rewind it, you'll see it start going into the negative numbers. It starts somewhere around -6:07 or somewhere around there. I don't think you can do this in a computer CD player, so you'll have to use a standalone..."

I haven't been able to get this to work, and I'm just wondering if he accidentally just rewound the disc to start playing the last track (Blackout)... Have any of you heard anything about this?

It's a disk I could play on the dance floor or in the chill room...
